Target Operating Model Frameworks

A Target Operating Model (TOM) helps a firm to apply their strategy or vision to a business or operation.

When effective, a TOM will help a firm more efficiently and effectively deliver and execute on this strategy.

A TOM should allow everyone within the firm to understand and visualise from the perspective of the different business lines, control functions and risk management roles.  

Once the Vision and Strategy of the firm is clear, the following areas will be developed for the TOM

Organisation and Processes

 What is the business, how is it run, what are the processes. What are the rules, regulations, procedures that will be put in place and followed.

 

Technology

What technology will be used to support the business, manage the processes, review compliance with rules and regulations, provide reporting, liaise with third parties and provide operational resilience. 

 

People

Who are the people and skill sets that are required in the business.
